Cathy Feldman attended the Interlochen Center for the Arts, and is an alumnus of the National Music Camp and the Interlochen Arts Academy. She received her B.A. from Arizona State University, and her Master of Music with Distinction, in flute performance from California State University, Northridge. A classically trained flutist, Cathy is unique in that she is a female flutist with strong Jazz, Pop and Rock influences. Combining these genres allows her the ability to create music that is positive, uplifting and enjoyable listening. Her outgoing personality and sensitive nature enhance her composition and her ability to communicate with an audience.

In addition to fluting, Cathy currently teaches music in grades K-5 and is a private flute instructor. She has been involved in performing and recording throughout the Los Angeles area as a freelance musician with her own woodwind trio and jazz combo, Fresh Flute. Cathy has also won several awards in performance and has performed in a variety of music ensembles, including the Bay Wind Quintet in San Luis Obispo, California; Quintessence Wind Quintet, Santa Maria, California; and the San Fernando Valley Symphony in Los Angeles. She has performed in New Orleans and was awarded Outstanding Performance at the Orange Coast College Jazz Festival. Cathy is a member of The American Federation of Musicians, Pi Kappa Lambda honor society for musicians, Sigma Alpha Iota, professional music fraternity for women in music and The National Flute Association.

Cathy will be performing with her band throughout Michigan in several music festivals and fairs in 2003 - 2004, including the Strawberry Festival. Stay tuned for more information.
